My best holidays!!

My best holidays was recently, and therefore my mind is full of vivid memories. At the end of July of this year, in winter holidays, I went to the house beach of my girlfriend’s family in El Quisco, located on the V Region. I think that this is a wonderfull place to spend many time, where you can just think about anything meanwhile you see the end of the sea and the start of the sky fading out in an infinite line.

This holidays started like a simple idea to go out of Santiago and do nothing related with study. Talking with my girlfriend we decided to go to the beach and hear the sound of the sea, rest all the day and walk throughtout the coast, the rockeries and the forest torwards El Canelo beach.

Every day we watched a movie and cooked a lot of delicious foods. But well, we did not just do happy things, because the last day we spent many time cleaning all the house, loking the windows’ protections and preparing our backpacks for the return to santiago.

I have so good memories of this holidays because, although we stayed just for a week, this time was amazing, like being in a paralel world. And, there is another reason to belive that this was my best holidays: this was the first vacations that we had in a year, after the horrible second semester of 2011 academic year.

I would like to visit… Rural China!

I would like to go to China, because is a place with a completely different way to know the world. I am not thinking in a big city; instead I want to visit a rural town. I would like live simply, without the big technologies that I can get in Chile, salving the proportion, obviously. The root of this could be in the old movies that I watched when I was a child. This showed me things about the peace of the rural life, but with a great sense of the self life.  I think that the rural China can offer me this.

But well, actually I don’t know much of this. In fact, the not-knowing has something of adventure and thrills me to go! I think that if you know all about the place you are going to, you will be most interested just on a couple of things and you could forgive live the moment with all your senses.

I just would like to travel, but maybe work a little just to learn something more like the language or the traditions. This is like try to live there as another person and not as a tourist.

The first post of English IV class

Well, my first term of 2012 was a little exhausting, because I hadn’t time to rest, due to the facts happened in the last term of 2011-12: classes were extended to the summer vacations time. The last one was my seventh semester on the degree and my third semester in Archaeology’s specialty, where I learn things which demand much knowledge. But, after all, I was really happy with some classes like Political Anthropology, in spite that is part of the other specialty.

During my first term of 2012 I didn’t do any exercise or sport, and just now I am finishing my obligatory sport. But, well, I think that soon I will have time to do more exercise. The fact that I didn’t exercise wasn’t just for the time spend in the university, instead it was for the times I went with my girlfriend, friends and family to the cinema, restaurants and many other places to relax my mind.

The only problem that now I can remember about my first term was a really bad class –due to the teacher-, where it didn’t care how much effort I did, I never was be able to understand what  the correct answer was for the teacher.

The Last Post.

Well, this is the last post that I will write in this blog to the English III Class in the first semester. I hope that anyone who read it will enjoy some of which I've written or, at least, it seems consistent.

This wasn’t the first time which I write in a blog, but is very different do It in English, thinking that after It will be assessed, mainly because the subjects are given or agreed, limiting the free writing. Either way, it takes much imagination to make from small ideas a full post.

No doubt I enjoyed writing this blog, I found entertaining and a good experience. To express ideas, however small or incomplete to be, they help to improve the communication skills.

Gradually I got used to thinking in English, thing which still remains very difficult to me, but with practice I could improve. By no means I am good in English, but I'm slightly better. Mainly, it has been very good to understand how to sort ideas in another language to preserve the original meaning, or at least, that It does not vary much. With regard to vocabulary, I have learned many more words and the different types of conjugates, in addition to practicing a more relaxed communication, not so formal.

There are many advantages of writing a blog in English class, one of them is the constant help which the teacher provides to solve all sorts of questions, is an excellent guide. Also writing in conjunction with other classmates, which enables the exchange of ideas and a pleasant working environment. One drawback for me is the time that usually I take to organize and structure ideas in English text correctly, so I work a bit faster in the time available, thus sometimes I make silly mistakes.

FIFA World Cup

If we think which the football is the most popular and practiced sport on the world, the moment where the 32 best countries compete while they had be seen for severeal millons of pairs of eyes, we can be seen to the FIFA World Cup as one of the few events of the humanity meets without it has relation with a war conflict.

In this moment, I do not know where I going to see the match of tomorrow: Chile vs Honduras. I have two alternatives: to see the match in the university, but for It, I would have which awake very very early to arrive to the university to the start of the match. The other option is to see the match in my house and when it end, run to the Transantiago, from here to the Metro and keep running again to the Transantiago for to arrive on time to the class. Both options are very difficult. If I see the match in my house, I going to see the match with my parents; if I see the match in the University, I going to see the match with my classmates.

My expect from the Chile’s participation on the match of tomorrow is which they show a good football like a team and to see some goals and very much courage. I hope a chilean victory, nothing more. With respect to the Chile’s participation in all of the World Cup, I do not know if Chile win, I just hope to see a good play and many goals.

I understad the behavior of the chilean people about the chile’s participation: the bread is richer and tea is sweeter when chile wins.

A good photograph

Hello to all!!!!

This photograph was taken by Wen Fong, a Chilean student that lives in Santiago. He has been in North America, Asia and Europa taking photographs.

The photograph was taken on January 8, 2010 in the Meadow Village, Big Sky, Montana.

The name of this photograph is Winter Fire, and was publicated in Isocien which is a chilean website dedicated to the photography and in Flickr, the bigest website made to share photographs and videos with the world.

An important point is the camera that captured this photograph: a Nikon D40X. This is a great camera, and his price is over $ 300.000 chilean pesos.

This photograph shows wood burning in winter. It is very difficult to achieve combustion in bad climatic condition, but we can see how flows the fire and which is feeding from to the wood and the cold oxygen of winter. For this reason, this is photograph need hard work.

To take a fire photograph needs knowledge and experience in the world of photography, Wen Fong could not took this photograph using flash, with a low exposure time or a auto zoom. All of this factor must be selected for the photographer with so much carefully. Each element of the nature could ruin a photograph, and more in winter, the enemy of the fire.

I like this photograph because It shows a big concern and care in the details: the photograph is centered, the colors are very marked and the contrast is optimal. Exist the possibility which I am imagining all of the good characteristics of the photograph and could be the result of an error or just for luck. Even so, this is a great photography and It has the classical features of hard work.

My favorite trip

My favorite trip was this year at El Tabo. The Tabo is a municipality in the Province of San Antonio, in the V Region of Valparaiso. It is located 120 km from Santiago, exactly in the east.
This trip was made with two old friends, Bianco and Francisco, both former classmates. In fact, we plan to make this trip for quite some time, resulting only February 26, 2010.

I think you understand why this trips is special compared with my others trips.

The first night we spent in El Tabo, occurred the Earthquake of the 27-02. It was not the same earthquake what it did special this trip, yes did do the consequences of this earthquake, which I can define in three words: freedom, isolation and independence. These three things made me understand my abilities to solve problems. These problems can be seen as simple, but are rare as the lack of drinking water, the decrease in the ration of food (prices rose and began to lack some products) or our security.

Initially we plan to be in El Tabo three days, but were eventually four days because the bus would bring us back to Santiago simply did not picked us. Be careful when you are traveling in Tur-Bus, jajajaja.

What most we did, finally, was to know the city walking, taking many photographs of the coastal landscape with long journeys through the various beaches. I think that was the best of this trip: despite everything that was happening, always we could sit, watching the sea and hear the sound. Just to rest.

This is my trip.
